Seville. Spanish passion
As the legend claims Seville was found by the antique hero Heracles. Its citizens still believe that and their hero is depicted on the main arcade of the city Ayuntamiento. And what do we actually know about Seville? It turned out to be the homeland of many literary and real characters. To be honest they are not always thankful, but are still very charismatic. So it was in Seville that the legend about the most famous seducer was born, his name is Don Juan. It was Seville that saw Christopher Columbus off when he started his way of the New World’s discoverer. Seville also became a place of a fateful encounter of Don Jose and Toreador Escamillo with the beautiful Carmen. By the way the building where Carmen worked at the tobacco factory still exists, today it’s a home of the local university.
Seville is filled with delicious flower fragrances coming from its numerous gardens. The gardens were created according to the Islamic traditions, that’s why they are full of various fountains and ceramic decorations. All they will remind you of giant precious bowls, strewn with jasmines, violets, roses.
To the delight of the locals and tourists, the Plaza de Toro de la Maestranza still keeps the tradition of bullfights. The toreros are much respected in Spain and no beautiful woman can resist their charm and courage. This is due to their risky “job” of taming bulls balancing between the victory and the death. Each time fighting with a bull the torero accomplishes a real feat. First of all, he overcomes himself and his own fears. Corrida is not just a Spanish tradition, it is a spirit of Spain, its nature, its heart that beats fast, madly, with passion.
