Barcelona. Romance of Gaudí
There are cities you can fall in love with at the first sight. And it is always once and for all. Barcelona is definitely one of these cities. Barcelona is music that sounds everywhere, salty taste of sea-breeze, flavor of paella and fried squid, spicy odour of sangria and austere wine, caressing sunshine and play of evening lights. All that makes every day and moment spent in Barcelona really special and unforgettable.
The best place for the first date with Barcelona is La Rambla. It is the most famous boulevard and pedestrian street. This is a heart of the city that beats with the rhythms of music of street performers, hushes in expectation before painters’ easels, listens to the talks of the locals and tourists.
In the middle of La Rambla you’ll find a real oasis filled with flowers, flavours and fragrances. This is a famous market la Boqueria. You can see and take pictures of fabulous compositions of vegetables, fruit and seafood.
On your second date, when you’ve already become closer, Barcelona will show you its precious pearl – the sea. To admire its beauty it’s better to walk on the pedestrian bridge of Rambla del Mar, watching underwater life of fishes. Sometimes they look really tame, like cats or dogs. It’s because of constant attention of tourists giving them bread. After la Rambla del Mar Barcelona will offer you to visit old fishing blocks followed by the city beach. The next date should be spent in one of various restaurants and cafes of Barcelona. This is how you will feel its hospitability and taste the most delicious dishes. One of them is traditional paella – a rise cooked in different variations. This delicacy once charmed Hemingway, Marquez, Che Guevara. As well as sangria. Sangria is made on basis of red wine supplemented with fruit, sugar and liquor.
Besides this, Barcelona will give a chance to admire genial masterpieces of Antonio Gaudí, whose art attracts tourists from all over the world. Also you’ll be definitely impressed by a spectacular play of fountains. In the evenings the Magic fountain “comes alive” on the Plaça d’Espanya. Its illuminated water dance will win your heart and make you Barcelona’s fan forever.
