Paris. Exploring the city of love
«Paris is everything you need» — these are the words of Frederic Chopin about Paris. And they are still true. City of lovers, city of dreams, city of fairytales. Some years ago there was a premiere of the film called “Paris, je t’aime”, 20 directors took part in its creation. Each of them has the aim – to tell a love story set in of the Paris arrondissements. In every frame you can “hear” a strong, passionate and tender heartbeat of loving heroes. And the heartbeat of Paris itself of course with its cozy streets of Montmartre where you can buy wonderful paintings of talented artists, enjoy the sounds of a famous street-organ and taste the scent of a delicious coffee famous from the times of Renoir sitting in of homey cafes. And what to say about a splendid snowy-white Sacré Coeur!
From the base of the Basilica you can plainly see the most outstanding sights of Paris: Notre-Dame, the Louvre Palace, the top of the Eiffel Tower.
Do you know that the Parisians used to consider the Eiffel Tower something disfiguring the city and not its adornment at all? They even organized the protest actions. And what do we see today? The Eiffel Tower is the main and incontestable symbol of Paris. The symbol of the city is its visiting card. On the different levels of the Eiffel Tower you can see a lot of photos, romantic and funny, but surely against the Tower. A photographer must be in love with Paris to create such masterpieces. Like many other talented artists charmed by Paris whose works you can buy there.
A visit to the Louvre will become the most amazing “time travel”. It presents the most impressive collection of sculptures, paintings, and works of art from all over the world. The Louvre keeps a harmonic beauty of perfect male and female statures, reflected in sculptures of the Greeks, Romans, and mysterious Mona Lisa’s smile and an eternal aspiration of freedom personified in a flying sculpture of Nike and many others. Another famous museum – the Musée d’Orsay is a real love anthem, presented with fascinating Rodin’s sculptures, outspoken nudity of Manet and Corot works, alluring passion of Degas dancers. Everything in Paris seems to be perfect, inimitable and unique.
The bridges are worth-seeing as well. The most beautiful is the Pont of Alexander III with its extravagant statues. Walking down the Seine quay you can drop in one of the antiquarian stores. They are full of interesting things that can be a great present for your friends or relatives.
To plunge into the inimitable Parisian atmosphere – you should visit one of its colorful cafes or homey restaurants. By the way, visiting cafes is a favorite pastime of Parisians. It’s a place for lunches, for dates, for business, for reading and discussing news. Even a simple cup of a fragrant coffee and a croissant will give you a great pleasure and brighten the minutes of rest before “exploration” of Paris.
